Roles and responsibilities

The person in charge approves privacy impact assessments, keeps the register of confidentiality incidents and answers requests for access, correction and deletion. Each team member only accesses the information their role requires. People who handle moderation, profile verification and coaching are bound to confidentiality in writing. Our service providers act only on our instructions, under a written agreement.

Collection, use and disclosure

We only collect the information needed for the purposes described in the privacy policy. Sensitive information (orientation, religion, origins) and biometric data are only processed with your express consent. The most protective settings apply by default, and no promotional email is sent without your consent.

Retention and destruction

Each category of information has a defined retention period. At the end of that period, or when you delete your account, the information is destroyed or anonymized, unless the law requires us to keep it longer. No face verification image is kept: it is erased as soon as the comparison is done.

Privacy impact assessments

We carry out an assessment before any information system project involving personal information, and before any disclosure of personal information outside Québec.

Confidentiality incidents

Every confidentiality incident is recorded in a register. If it presents a risk of serious harm, we promptly notify the Commission d'accès à l'information and the people concerned, and take steps to limit the consequences.

Complaints and your rights

To access your information, have it corrected or deleted, or file a complaint, write to [email protected]. We answer within 30 days. If our answer does not satisfy you, you can contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec (cai.gouv.qc.ca) or the data protection authority of your country.

Training and awareness

Everyone who handles personal information for Leeva receives privacy awareness training when they join, then every year.

Surveys

Before any survey of members, the person in charge assesses whether it is necessary, how sensitive the questions are and how the answers will be used. Taking part is always optional.
